Call for Special Sessions

The IEEE SSP 2027 programme will include Special Sessions that complement the traditional programme with new and emerging topics of interest to the signal-processing community, especially those in line with statistical signal processing and its applications. The aim of a Special Session is to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art as well as to highlight current research directions and challenges in specific fields of signal processing.

Organising a Special Session

The SSP 2027 Organising Committee wishes to invite you to organise a Special Session and submit a proposal indicating:

  • Title of the Special Session
  • Motivation, indicating the novelty of the topic and its timeliness
  • Short biography of the organisers
  • List of six contributed papers (titles, authors, contact information of the corresponding author, and a short abstract of each contribution)

Each organiser may contribute to at most two papers and must secure the participation of all contributed paper authors before submitting the proposal. Proposals will be evaluated based on their relevance to the workshop themes, timeliness, attractiveness, and the qualifications of the organisers and contributors. Accepted Special Session papers must follow the regular submission requirements: four pages of technical content plus an optional fifth page for references only.

Special Session papers will undergo the same review process as regular papers, with oversight from the Special Session Chairs. Organisers are responsible for ensuring that submissions meet SSP quality standards. Proposals (PDF, maximum 4 pages) and inquiries should be sent by email to the Special Session Chairs:
